OneTrackMind Test version

Recce. Ride. Report.
Every great route, graded for your skill, planned day by day. Built by riders: add your favourite routes, mark the places worth stopping.
How it works

1. Plan a trip

Set where you start and your dates. Each day gets its own tab. Pick where you sleep each night, and add stops in between for a pass, a farm stall or a mate you want to see. The route is worked out for you.

2. Pick your roads

Road less travelled takes gravel and back roads wherever they go. Mixed rides plenty of gravel and uses tar to link it up. Tar keeps you on sealed roads. Set it once, then change any stretch with its way icon: brown for your style, blue for the quick way.

Route grades

G1 tar · G2 good gravel, any car · G3 rough gravel, corrugations and loose stones · G4 4x4 or adventure bike: rocks, sand, steep, river crossings · G5 expert: technical, steep and loose. Each day shows a bar of how much is at each grade and a badge for the hardest bit. Tap 🛣 on the map to colour the route by grade.

3. Fuel

Tell it how far you go between fills ("Stop at least every"). Towns with fuel are suggested at about that spacing. "Fuel not confirmed" means there's none on our map. Know better? Open the stop and tick "Fuel here".

4. Night stops

🛏 marks where you sleep, on the map and in the list. Open a night stop for places to stay, with numbers and websites. Move a night stop and the days around it are worked out again.

5. Before you go

Every day shows distance, riding time, sunset and weather. Orange means have a look: a long day, arriving near dark, rain or heat. "Good to know" lists what to sort out first, like public holidays, border posts, and long stretches without fuel or a hospital.

6. Got a route already?

Use "Plan from a GPX file" with a route from a friend or your Garmin. It's followed exactly, split into days, and night stops and fuel are added.

7. Take it with you

Each day downloads as a GPX file for your GPS or phone. "Save as PDF" prints the whole trip with the warnings up front.

Sign in to save routes and open them on any device. On the road, open a stop and tap "Report the road here": washaways, no fuel, roadworks, a good stay. Riders planning that road see it on the map 📣 and under "Good to know". Rode a route? Rate it and say how hard you found it.

Worth knowing

Trips are saved on this device only, for now. Fuel, places and road surfaces come from OpenStreetMap and can be wrong, especially out in the sticks. Phone ahead on remote stretches, and tell us what's wrong with "Send feedback".

Route grades

Graded from what OpenStreetMap says about each road. Roads change after rain and grading, so check locally. Riders' reports will sharpen this.

We show where fuel is; we don't track your tank. Suggested stops use your "Stop at least every" setting. Fuel, places and hospitals come from OpenStreetMap and can be wrong. Phone ahead on remote legs.

Plan a trip, day by day

Pick where you start, your dates and where you sleep each night. The app works out the route, fuel stops, sunset, weather and what to watch for, for every day.

  1. From and dates: where you start, when you leave and when you're back.
  2. Night stops: where you sleep each night. Add stops along the way if you like.
  3. Each day: open its tab for fuel stops, what's open when you arrive, and anything to watch for.
  4. Take it with you: a GPX file for your GPS or phone, and a PDF to print.

Built by riders: open riders' routes under Find a route, and tap + Add yours to share a road you love or mark a place worth stopping.

Have a route already? Use Plan from a GPX file and it's split into days for you. Trips are saved on this device only. You can change all of this later in Settings.
