Canyon Roadhouse
Old cars, cold beer, middle of nowhere. My kind of church.
The Canyon Roadhouse is a lodge that decided to be a scrapyard museum as well, and somehow it works. There are rusting trucks and pickups parked inside and out, the bar is full of old number plates, and the beer is cold enough to make you forget the corrugations it took to get there.
On the Orange River trip in 2020 we pulled in filthy, sunburnt and arguing about the route. Twenty minutes later nobody remembered what the argument was about.
