The story
A dealer trip to the KTM factory, 235,000 bikes a year, and we were treated like VIPs. A cultural day that turned into a hike in the mist to an ice cave. When the boys flew home and Goodwood Revival fell through, I had three paid laps of the Nürburgring or Rossi at Misano. Rossi won't be around forever. A farmer's tan under the Italian sun, panniers that made MotoGP hands-free, then home via Venice to stay a block and a half from where 2018 started. Full circle.
Good to know
- Book the Eisriesenwelt and don't believe 'short walk'. It's a climb.
- Local SIM in Italy: cheap data for the whole of Europe.
- Panniers make a race weekend easy: lock the helmet away and walk.
